What does LampStone have to do with Office Solutions?
Garnet is my birthstone, Relating this fascinating gem to my business
seemed like a good idea - so I did some research. And to my surprise -I
found some interesting and relevant information.
According to the Talmud, a vast collection of Jewish laws and traditions,
Noah’s Ark was illuminated by a brilliant garnet.
The ancient Greeks attributed light giving properties to this glowing gem,
which they called the “lampstone,” believing that it enabled its wearer to
see in the dark.
These “glowing stones” were also worn to drive out nightmares and evil
thoughts – and, thereby, said to relieve insomnia.
It occurred to me that when working with publications, name and address
list management, bulk mail tasks, and other business support services, it
is not unusual to experience that “in the dark” feeling.
And I didn't have to have much imagination to make a connection between
insomnia and such "toss-and-turn tasks" as formatting brochures, event
invitations and programs, trying to print labels from a bad address list,
and getting that newsletter out on time.
And who hasn't experienced numerous nightmares dealing with a lack of
resources or skills “to get your message out?" And if we are honest - we
have even had more than a few evil thoughts!!!!
