SeniorsOnlineSolutions is a new service of LampStone Office Solutions
geared specifically to Quad Citians* who are over 55 and want to learn how to use a computer to
send and receive emails, find information on the Internet, listen to music,
chat, exchange photos, and have the ability to interact with family and friends
using a computer. Usually just one or two hours will be enough to get started.
There is a one-time fee of $50.00, which includes up to two hours of
assistance, and a step-by-step "cheat sheet" customized to the specific needs of
each user. If necessary, additional visits or assistance by phone will be
available at a basic rate of $25/hour. (*Davenport and Bettendorf Iowa, Rock
Island and Moline, IL).
Keeping our mind active keeps us younger than
our years! And computers are a great way to exercise our mind while boosting
our emotional health!
Comments I hear most often from Seniors is that
they feel isolated, lonely, and down-right bored! The "kids" have their own
lives, the grandchildren are so busy, and it just isn't as easy "getting out and
about" as it used to be.
Although these comments reflect the realities
faced by many older adults - we should be encouraged that there are more
opportunities to enrich and enhance our golden years than ever before. Even
those with disabilities have access to a variety of "online" experiences that
can bring hours of enjoyment and personal satisfaction to their lives.
